Angela Abderhalden - Angela's first book, Questionable Ethics, will be published in March 2008. It is the first in the Mel Addison Series with the second due out in fall 2008. She is the President of Partners in Crime, a chapter of Sisters in Crime in Boise, Idaho. She is also a member of Romance Writers of America and the Idaho Writers League. Angela lives in Idaho.

Charles Benoit - As a copywriter and producer for an ad agency, Charles developed the Big Picture process to facilitate video production. In one of those brainstorm moments you always hear about, he adapted the concept to mystery writing. Nominated for an Edgar and a Barry, Relative Danger (2004) won the Franklin award and was the darling of fans and critics alike. T.L. Cooper - Author of contemporary women's fiction novel, All She Ever Wanted, poet, and short story writer, T.L.'s works have appeared in Standings, Poetry by Idaho Women, and Idaho Magazine among others. Plus, she's the chair of Murder In The Grove.

 

 

Chris Grabenstein - The Anthony award winning author of Tilt a Whirl, Chris's critically acclaimed John Ceepak series also includes Mad Mouse, Whack A Mole, and, in 2008 from St. Martin's Minotaur, Hell Hole. He also writes thrillers such as Slay Ride and Hell for the Holidays as well as young adult books for middle graders. A former improvisational comedian and guest lecturer at Universities, he loves talking structure, using it as form not formula.

 

Kelly Jones - Boise resident and art historian Kelly Jones's debut novel, The Seventh Unicorn, inspired by The Lady and the Unicorn Tapestries in the Cluny Museum in Paris, France, was published by Berkley Books in 2005. The Lost Madonna (February 2007, Berkley Books), also an "art mystery" is set in Florence, Italy.

 

Jolie Kramer - Jolie Kramer, who writes romance under the name Jo Leigh, is a three-time RITA finalist and bestselling author of over 45 novels. She began her career in film. Her TV series Mystagogue was optioned by Cinamax, and her screenplay Geezer’s Run was optioned by Northern Lights Productions. She also ghost-authored Great Big Beautiful Doll- The Anna Nicole Smith Story. Her upcoming books are Coming Soon and Have Mercy, both published by Harlequin.
 

Ken Kuhlken - Winner of the Private Eye Writers of America/St. Martin’s Press Best First Mystery Novel, and finalist in the Ernest Hemingway Award for his novels, Ken's short stories are equally well received, having appeared in Esquire and other top magazines and earning him an NEA Fellowship. Ken's 2006 Hickey family mystery was honored as a finalist for the Shamus Award for best novel. His latest, featuring Alvaro Hickey, is The Vagabond Virgins.

DP Lyle - D. P. Lyle, MD is the Macavity Award winning and Edgar Award nominated author of the non-fiction books Murder and Mayhem: A Doctor Answers Medical and Forensic Questions for Mystery Writers, a compilation of the most interesting questions he has received over the years, and Forensics For Dummies, an in depth look into the world of forensic science. His published fiction includes the thrillers Devil’s Playground and Double Blind. He has worked as a story and technical consultant with many published authors as well as with the writers and producers of several popular television shows, including Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Diagnosis Murder, Monk, Judging Amy, Cold Case, Peacemakers, House, Medium, and 1-800-Missing.
 

Joanne Pence - USA Today best-selling author, Joanne has published fourteen books in the Angie Amalfi culinary series, plus romantic suspense, short stories, and a novella. Her latest mystery, a March 2007 release, is The Da Vinci Cook. Joanne lives in Boise and is part of the Murder in the Grove committee.

 


Trevor Scott - Trevor Scott has worked as a Navy aviation ordnanceman on the flight deck of three aircraft carriers, and as an Air Force officer, where he lived in Germany for three years during the crumbling of the Berlin Wall and the fall of communism. He still holds the rank of captain in the reserves. He has a bachelor's in English from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and a master's in creative writing from Northern Michigan University. He is the author of the Jake Adams International Thriller Series. His 2008 releases are Burst of Sound and The Cold Edge. He currently resides in the Pacific Northwest.

 

Michael Sherer - Michael W. Sherer is the author of five books in the Emerson Ward mystery series featuring a Chicago freelance writer. His stand-alone thriller, Island Life, is a March release.  He’s now working on the first book in his  “Night” series.

 

 

Louise Ure - Louise Ure is a fourth generation Arizonan with a deep appreciation of the magic, the mystery and the legends of the desert Southwest. Louise's first novel, Forcing Amaryllis, was the Shamus Award Winner for Best First Novel and features Arizona jury consultant Calla Gentry, who becomes embroiled in a world of buried lies and violent rage when she tries to uncover the truth about her sister's rape. The next book, The Fault Tree, is also set in Arizona and is the story of Cadence Moran, a blind woman thrown into a desperate race against a killer.

 

Penny Warner - Penny Warner is the author of over 50 fiction and non-fiction books, including the award winning mystery series featuring Connor Westphal. The latest book in the series, Dead Man's Hand, was published in April 2007. books. She is also author of The Official Nancy Drew Handbook.

 

Betty Webb - A retired journalist-turned-mystery author, Betty Webb has interviewed everyone from U.S. presidents to the homeless. Her best-selling Lena Jones detective series has garnered rave reviews from the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and other prestigious national publications. The latest in the series Desert Cut, is a February 2008 release. Betty is the Small Press reviewer for Mystery Scene magazine, and teaches creative writing at Phoenix Community College.

SPECIALISTS AND EXPERTS

Ray Ellis -Ray Ellis began his career as a police officer in 1989 in Southern California. He has been investigating sexual assaults and child abuse cases since 2001. Now, with seventeen years in law enforcement, Detective Ellis is the lead investigator for the City of Meridian in the area of crimes against children.

Cathy Cobb - Cathy Cobb, Ph.D. (Aiken, SC), is the highly acclaimed author of Crime Scene Chemistry for the Armchair Sleuth, The Joy of Chemistry, Creations of Fire, and Magick, Mayhem, and Mavericks. She is currently an instructor of chemistry, calculus, and physics at Aiken Preparatory School and adjunct professor of chemistry at the University of South Carolina at Aiken.

Julie Murphy - Julie Murphy has a B.A in Communications and a M.A. in Writing Popular Fiction, and has been a part-time teacher for the past six years, teaching grades K-12.

Margaret Streeter - As a physical anthropologist, Margaret Streeter (Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia) focuses on bone biology as applied to forensics and bioarchaeology. Her research addresses questions pertaining to growth and development, health status, and estimation of age at death through the analysis of one microstructure.

Carrie Stuart Parks -
Award-winning artist, forensic artist, instructor, and recipient of numerous national awards for training excellence including 1st runner up for Law Enforcement Trainer of the Year from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, Carrie Stuart Parks is the author of Secrets to Drawing Realistic Faces and Secrets to Realistic Drawing.

Milton C. Toby - Milton C. Toby has worked as a journalist, a freelance photographer in Asia and Latin America, a lawyer, and an educator. During 12 years in practice he represented criminal defendants facing the death penalty at trial and on appeal in state and federal courts. He has also practiced equine law and has written five non-fiction books and numerous magazine articles on that topic.

Marti Verlander - The first woman accepted as the personal student of the Taika, Seiyu Oyata, Marti Verlander has taught Ryu-Te Karate® for eighteen years. She earned a 5th-degree black belt and membership in the elite Oyata Shin Shu Ho Ryu organization. Her articles on martial arts topics have appeared in Consumer’s Digest, Kansas City Magazine, Inside Karate, and American Karate. She is currently the managing editor of www.whimsplace.com, which sponsors a quarterly flash fiction contest.
